Aston Martin Lagonda will now be marketed all around the world with the a new name “Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf”. The Aston Martin Lagonda was initially limited only to the wealthy in the UAE & Middle East and soon after the reveal Aston Martin sensed the need to open the car to customers all over the world. The new territories where the Lagonda Taraf could be bought are as following; EU legislation-compliant Continental Europe, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
The possibility to open the car to other territories was made only by re-engineering the car to be available in both right and left hand drive versions. Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer explains why he felt the need to make the Lagonda available globally:
Opening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year. I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and I’m very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition.
The Lagonda Taraf will be made in strictly exclusive number of 200 examples. It will be made-by hand in Gaydon Warwickshire where previously the One-77 was manufactured. The car will feature a 6.0 litre V12 but the price is kept confidential as it will vary according to the customers personalisation from the brand’s “Q” bespoke service.
