Honda announced earlier today that they plan to debut new Civic Type R which is now production-ready and new NSX at this year’s Geneva Auto Show in March. Not only this as Honda also proudly announces refreshing the whole european line-up for 2015 and the will also showcase its fuel-cell concept the “FCV” which they announced last year in November.
Honda will for the first time unveil the production ready model of the Civic Type R and will feature Honda’s 2.0 litre VTEC Turbo engine and this will be the engine’s first world application plus they say that it will have aggressive but purposeful designing with many chassis technologies to make what they call a “one of the most immersive and rewarding driving experiences available in any sector”. Well that being said we all are anxiously waiting to see the new car after it was taken off the market because of emission regulations in late 2010 and since then the enthusiasts were asking the for its re-release, well it isn’t far now!
The new NSX which was unveiled in Detroit Auto Show earlier in January will also be making its european debut alongside the Type R. This particular car has taken up 25 years after the original debuted which many would say is a very long time and rightly so but I am sure that with Honda promising, “a new sports experience and challenging conventional beliefs about the supercar segment”, it sure will be the car to keep your eye on and speaking about challenging we must remember that this car is designed to overthrow the Ferrari 458, which is as authenticated by many reviewers as a near-perfect supercar, and with the new McLaren 650S, the new Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 and the 458’s own “Speciale” version lined up alongside, it will sure be fun to see the comparisons.
Also coming to Geneva from the Japanese auto-maker are the new HR-V and Jazz models debuting before their market launches in 2015. The HR-V for 2015 is totally redesigned to have as Honda says “eye-catching exterior styling, fun-to-drive performance, class-leading fuel economy and unmatched interior spaciousness”
The all-new third-generation Jazz is also build from scratch and will boast a more advanced exterior, upgraded interior and as well as a new 1.3-litre engine.
And the show hasn’t finished from Honda just yet as it will also present its futuristic hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle concept the “FCV” which offers a much more practical design than its predecessors with better powertrain packaging, increased interior space, a 300 mile range and a gasoline like 3-5 minutes refueling time.
And guess who is joining the show? If you guessed the McLaren Honda F1 racecar then you are absolutely correct! This will be the MP4-30’s first public debut and it will just take place a week or two earlier from its competition debut in the Australian Gran Prix. This partnership has just been revived after almost 23 years and is one of the most awaited partnerships ever.
