Tesla has been going good so far in 2013 with their federal loan being paid off 9-years earlier and announced to triple the number of super charger stations. Now the CEO Elon Musk has announced that they would be introducing a lower priced (half the amount of the Model S) sedan and a mini SUV and would be available to customers as early as 2015. Currently the company is focusing all its energies on the production of the Model S and a Cross-over Model X which is coming to production next year “In about three to four years, that’s when we aspire to bring into production a sedan that’s about half the price of the Model S, and then shortly thereafter a small SUV as well,” said Musk. “These should be quite affordable. The price would be on the order of $35,000.” he added. The sedan would compete with entry level premium cars like the BMW 3-Series and the Audi A4. These plans seem quite good for the company (Tesla recorded first profit in 10-years) as well as for the customers. These cars would expand the line-up giving more choices and a lower price would mean its affordable for everyone! Thumbs up to the Tesla Motors!
